Stage 2 recommends rubrics are effective tools to assess students work. An effective rubric should include the following traits:

What are the qualities of an excellent performance?


It is imperative to assess what we want the students understand. We often tend to assess what is easy.

It is a good idea to create an assessment task blueprint that includes the goals and tasks, and evidence of understanding.
